Ashes and Embers

In Axalar, the bards sing of regulations, the guilds are fractured, and legendary beasts have long since been pensioned off. Don't even get us started on the paperclip shortage. The Adventurers' Guild was once the pinnacle of questing. There are a few tomes of their exploits still knocking around somewhere in one of the libraries if you look hard enough. Now the best party it can muster has less competence than a horde of toddlers. Their quest throws them headfirst into a conflict with ancient forces, meddling deities, and enough bureaucracy to make even the most litigious dragon consider retirement. Consequences escalate from shattered dreams and wounded pride to guild promotions, lockdowns and heists, culminating in a brush with the gods themselves. Saving the world was never part of the plan. Surviving long enough to regret it might be.
