Day Zero

The Cataclysm caught a group of cavers deep underground in Hellhole Cave and spared them. When the survivors climbed to the surface looking for help, they realized there was none to be found. They thought they understood the scale of the Cataclysm when they saw the shattered Moon in the sky, peeking through the smoke of raging fires. Everyone decided to head home. Some to find out the fates of their loved ones. Archie—to reach his native Texas, where he believed it would be easier to survive and build a new world. Soon, another consequence of the disaster manifested: the Grays. Mutated humans, rotting, malicious, stripped of their humanity. Obsessed with a passion to infect the healthy or kill them. Ahead of Archie lies a 2,000-mile journey to his home state. Resources dwindle by the day and cannot be replenished. Every bullet, every can of stew, even an empty plastic bottle becomes more valuable with each passing day.
