writing as Stephanie Thomas
Vermont Children's Author
Last seen 18 days agoStephanie Thomas is a writer and mother whose work often explores empathy, imagination, and the many different ways children experience the world. As the parent of an autistic child, she is especially passionate about creating stories that help young readers feel seen, understood, and celebrated. Through gentle fantasy and heartfelt storytelling, she hopes to encourage kindness, acceptance, and bravery in children and the grown-ups who love them. Her children’s books combine whimsical adventures with experiences familiar to sensory-sensitive and neurodivergent children, exploring themes such as sound sensitivity, bathing and hygiene challenges, selective eating, overwhelm, and emotional regulation. Stephanie is based in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom and also participates in library storytimes, community events, and outreach centered on inclusive children’s literature.
